Sprig ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Sprig mobile application ("App").

This policy applies to all users of the Sprig App, including those who create accounts, use premium features, and participate in our community.

We collect several types of information in connection with your use of Sprig:

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. You may optionally provide a profile photo and bio for your community profile.

We store the recipes you create, import, and save. We collect data about how you use the App, including features accessed, search queries, recipe views, and interactions with community content.

We store your dietary preferences, allergen restrictions, and cuisine preferences to personalize your experience. This information is treated as sensitive data.

We collect your device type, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier. We may also collect crash reports and performance data to improve the App.

When you create a community profile and share recipes or reviews, that content and your display name become publicly visible to other users.

If you contact our support team, we retain records of those communications.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Sprig App and its features.
• Personalize your experience, including AI recipe generation based on your dietary preferences and allergens.
• Process transactions and manage your subscription.
• Send you service-related notifications, such as recipe approvals, new followers, and reviews.
• Send optional marketing communications (you may opt out at any time).
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve performance and user experience.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and other illegal activities.
• Comply with legal obligations.
• Respond to your comments and questions.

We share information with third-party vendors who provide services on our behalf, including cloud infrastructure (AWS), payment processing (Stripe through your app store), email delivery, and analytics. These providers are contractually bound to protect your information.

Recipe generation and modification features use third-party AI APIs. Your requests are processed by these services but are not used to train their models.

Your display name, profile photo (if provided), shared recipes, and reviews are visible to other Sprig users.

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except:

• Data we are required to retain for legal, regulatory, or fraud prevention purposes.
• Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you.
• Community content (shared recipes, reviews) may remain visible but will be disassociated from your identity.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

You may update your account information at any time within the App.

You may delete your account and associated personal data through the App settings or by contacting us.

You may request an export of your recipes and personal data.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting support.

You can disable push notifications through your device settings.

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These measures include:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS.
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest.
• Regular security assessments and penetration testing.
• Access controls limiting employee access to personal data.
• Secure password hashing using industry-standard algorithms.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@getsprig.app.

If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such information from our servers. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Sprig is operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers are located.

By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. We take steps to ensure that your information receives an adequate level of protection in the countries in which we process it, including through the use of standard contractual clauses approved by applicable authorities.

We use third-party analytics services to help us understand how users interact with the App. These services collect information sent by your device, including usage data and device information.

Third-party services we use may include:

• Analytics platforms to measure App performance and usage.
• Crash reporting tools to identify and fix bugs.
• Push notification services (Expo Notifications) to deliver alerts.

These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information. We encourage you to review those policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the App and, where required by law, by sending you an email notification.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
